MEET MAX

My Grandparents retired in the mid-eighties and searched the country for the perfect spot to spend their golden years; Traverse City and the surrounding area was the #1 choice. My family soon followed in the early nineties from southeast Michigan to share a slice of “God’s country” with them.

It didn’t take long to become enamored with everything this region has to offer. I found the best way to build a life here was to surround myself with people of great passion and purpose. Fortunately there’s no shortage of them in Traverse City.

I love listening to live music at one of the many venues in town. We love to take hikes around the Grand Traverse Commons. There is nothing better than having dinner at Red Ginger and heading to the Old Mission Lighthouse to marvel at the stars.

I’m a firm believer that you have to put back into a community what it’s given you and Traverse City gives a lot. I volunteer for or serve on the boards of many local organizations including the Father Fred Foundation, National Cherry Festival, Boy Scouts, Rotary Club, and several civic capacities as well.

ASK MAX ABOUT:

  • Charitable organizations and volunteer opportunities
  • Career opportunities and job-hunting
  • Finding community
  • Childcare/Daycare
  • Housing

TOP TIP?

For more housing options, consider the surrounding “bedroom” communities that offer an affordable and wonderful place to live – close enough to Traverse City to work and play but far enough to have their own identity and charm. From a career standpoint, there are countless resources such as SCORE for those who want to start their own business as well as industry leaders who are eager to help and connect with new people.
