CONNECT WITH A NORTHERN NAVIGATOR:

Karin Chung

It was definitely a leap of faith when we left the Detroit area for Traverse City, leaving behind the close support of family. We knew only one couple who lived in the area. We found that the Grand Traverse Region is a wonderful place to raise a family. Our four children have thrived in the schools and benefitted from the many extracurricular activities available. For fun, we love to spend time outdoors during all four seasons, and we love to eat good food whether it is from our favorite restaurants or cooking with bountiful locally sourced products.

THERE HAS DEFINITELY BEEN AN INCREASE IN DIVERSITY IN TRAVERSE CITY OVER THE YEARS WE HAVE BEEN HERE AND I AM EXCITED TO BE A STEWARD OF EVEN MORE TO COME!

As a Recruiter for Hagerty Karin is a great person to connect with about jobs and career opportunities in the Grand Traverse Region

DAVE MENGEBIER

I moved to Traverse City five years ago after 41 year away from northern Michigan. Before joining the Community Foundation I worked for Consumers Energy, the last 17 years as the Senior Vice President of Governmental, Regulatory and Public Affairs.

I BENEFITTED THROUGHOUT MY CAREER FROM PEOPLE WHO ASSISTED IN MY JOB SEARCHES, CAREER DEVELOPMENT AND MENTORSHIP, SO NOW IT’S MY TURN!

It was always my dream to move back to northern Michigan and experience all that it offers in terms of natural beauty, outdoor sports and a tight-knit, caring community.

STEVE PEACOCK

I had several work opportunities to pick from in Michigan and once I landed here in TC, I never looked back. Now after 30+ years of living, getting married, and raising four great kids here, I can say that this area is THE BEST place to call home.

THERE ARE PLENTY OF CAREER OPTIONS, GREAT MEDICAL CARE FACILITIES, AND OUTSTANDING SCHOOLS HERE. THE WATERFRONT, GOLF COURSES, SKI AREAS, ARE ALL PLACES THAT PROVIDE OUR RESIDENTS WITH AMPLE OPPORTUNITIES TO PLAY WHEN AWAY FROM WORK.

Traverse City has a very bright future ahead of us and I look forward to seeing what we can all accomplish as a community. Honestly, TC has it all and I cannot imagine living anywhere else.
