meet leah

Four years ago, after an all-day class at Central Michigan University, I suddenly decided that I didn’t want to drive back home to West Bloomfield. So, I decided to get in my car and drive north to the Sleeping Bear Dunes. I had never been before and was completely blown away by the natural beauty of Northern Michigan. Everyone I came across was so welcoming too! I knew immediately that this had to be my home.

I took a leap of faith to move here in 2019 and have never looked back! I have been truly fortunate to call the Grand Traverse Region my home. I love immersing myself into the culture of Northern Michigan.

Working for Northwest Michigan Community Action Agency as the Financial and Grant Manager has given me many opportunities to get involved with the community and advocate for affordable and attainable housing for all who live here. I am involved with Safe Harbor, Traverse Connect, Michigan Community Development Association, and several other organizations. There are many opportunities to get involved!

When I’m not volunteering or working, I spend a lot of time going to networking events, hiking on the trails of Sleeping Bear, enjoying the wineries, and trying out all the local food spots! There are many wonderful things to do, and I am so lucky to be here!
